#207 Alex Schenk - From Tragedy to Triumph: The Story of Collegiate School Cross-Country

On this episode, the boys had on special guest Alex Schenk! Alex is a teacher and the Head Cross-Country/Track coach at Collegiate School in St. Louis. In 2022, a shooting took place at the school and the cross-country coach at the time passed away during the event. Alex was a teacher at the school and shortly after stepped into the coaching role for this team that was devastated after losing their coach. Alex has done an amazing job with this team from 2022 to current. He has grown the team in size from just 5 runners at times to around 25, and they have an amazing team culture. This year, the team qualified for their first state meet in school history, a huge accomplishment for the program. Not only that - they finished 4th place and came home with a trophy!
